Debbie – QSM for the North West Region

Debbie Roxborough serves as the Quality Service Manager for the North West Region and is the Designated Safeguarding Officer at Prospero Health and Social Care Recruitment. While she is not directly involved in the recruitment process, Debbie plays a vital role in ensuring that candidates are well-suited for their roles and fully equipped to deliver outstanding care.

Professional Background: Debbie’s role entails close engagement with both staff and young people, ensuring that everyone within the care system is supported and safeguarded. Her responsibilities extend beyond traditional management, as she actively mentors and guides her teams, providing them with the knowledge and tools needed to deliver care to the highest standard. Her dedication to continuous staff development and strict adherence to best practices makes her an integral part of Prospero’s quality assurance framework.

Key Strengths:

  • Staff Development: Debbie emphasizes transparent communication, continuous learning, and accountability, helping staff understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Empathy and Support: She is known for her empathetic approach, going above and beyond to support her team and the young people they care for, while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Commitment to Excellence: Debbie’s dedication to quality is reflected in her proactive approach to problem-solving and her willingness to go the extra mile to ensure safety and well-being.

Significant Achievement: A particularly proud moment for me was when my perseverance paid off with a young male who is severely autistic. After weeks of no communication and daily attempts to interact, he finally began holding full conversations with me and the team. This breakthrough was recognized by Senior Commissioner Annette McKneal from Lancashire, who praised my commitment and offered us free training on conflict resolution, which will help us become a main provider for Lancashire regulated homes.
